White Adventure
Leave the hostel on the road towards Valle Tierra Mayor. The trip on a sled pulled by huskies takes off across this great snowy valley. Once you’ve crossed the valley, the old path of the woodcutters leads into a forest of lenga beech trees hundreds of years old. Here you’ll stop at the Axeman’s Shelter (a small log cabin heated by firewood). Then the snowshoe walk begins to the Alvear ice falls and the valley lookout point. The walks back to the shelter is much easier, since it’s downhill all the way, and after a short stop, the walk on snowshoes continues to the starting point in Valle Tierra Mayor.
